the sea.
The crew, who had suffered minor injuries,
managed to get out of the aircraft and into
their dinghy.
They were rescued by a native dugout canoe
which towed them back to the shore.
The following morning they were met by a
large outrigger canoe that had set out from
Tufi, a small remote ANGAU base.
Four hours later they arrived at Tufi, and
were fortunate enough to make contact with a
US patrol boat which took the crew to Milne
Bay. |
